YouTube plans to ban unsupervised children from viewing livestreamed videos. In response to rising concerns, YouTube announced children will have to be supervised by adults to access livestreamed content and that they’re limiting recommended videos of “minors in risky situations.” Earlier this year, they also disabled comments on most kid-featuring content. YouTube says that they take down “thousands of [under-13-year-olds’] accounts per week”—calling to attention how many underaged, unsupervised kids are on the main platform. (Variety, The Verge)
