Backing up Ypulse’s own recent research that Gen Z & Millennials are rejecting male stereotypes, PRRI/MTV found that young Americans “see serious negative consequences flowing from traditional depictions of masculinity.” Not only do 75% of 15-24-year-olds believe current American social standards cause “at least some pressure” to behave “in traditionally masculine ways,” but 40% think that pressure leads to “violent” behavior while 46% think it leads to “sexually aggressive” behavior.
