The loneliness epidemic is widespread and hitting Gen Z and Millennials the hardest. Using the UCLA Loneliness Scale, Cigna found that those born from the mid-1990s to the early 2000s had the highest average score (48.3) of all generations—meaning they’re the most likely to feel lonely. Millennials scored 45.3 while Baby Boomers scored 42.4. Cigna’s CEO and President says “There's a blurred line between mental and physical health,” which may be why so many young consumers are prioritizing mental health. (NPR)
