YouTubers are burning out and blaming the platform’s algorithm. The algorithm favors frequent posting, causing YouTubers to work long hours with no vacations to constantly put out new content. While the company has posted a video series making recommendations for avoiding fatigue, YouTuber Matt Lees thinks, “Encouraging creators to ‘take a break’ is pretty laughable from a system that actively promotes quantity over quality.” (The Guardian)
