Twitter is bringing more than 1,500 hours of esports to its platform this year. In a partnership with esports tournament organizations ESL and DreamHack, Twitter will be streaming 15 tournaments throughout 2017, as well as a weekly half hour show featuring highlights and behind-the-scenes videos. The platform previously streamed portions of ELeague's first season last summer, and sees this opportunity as a “way to tap into the engaged audience of gamers that are already using Twitter as a primary source of content.” According to our Ypulse survey, 26% of 13-33-year-old males consider themselves avid followers of the emerging sport.
