Starbucks took the crown for best coffee, and Five Guys usurped In N’ Out in this year’s brand equity study by The Harris Poll. Millennials voted restaurants higher than Boomers in all categories, causing some to declare that brands’ efforts to appeal to the generation are paying off. Their pull was especially noticeable for pizza and fast casual Mexican. Chipotle’s still floundering from its food safety fiasco, but is rising year over year, while Chick-Fil-A continues to dominate the chicken category with lots of love from Millennials and parents.
