Instagram is playing catchup with AR filtered selfies a la Snapchat—but Disney has a plan to take the technology one step further. Their researchers are working on a project to create “essentially…a real-life Snapchat filter” that would alter people’s appearance IRL. The filters would project onto moving faces, creating effects like clown makeup, subtle wrinkles, or more. The tech is also able to track facial movements without any physical markers to go by—making this the very first of its kind. (Quartz)
