Instagram’s new tool for ads is about to change influencer marketing on the platform. Instead of adding #ad or #spon, users will be able to denote posts as paid with a visible “Paid in partnership with” tag above the photo that also includes the brand name. According to MediaKix, 93% of celebrities are incorrectly labeling their ads—it’s no surprise the FTC tried to crack down on them earlier this year. Instagram is fighting back by implementing black and white guidelines, and, with the new tool, they could start staggering sponsored posts in your feed, too. (Glossy)
