Snapchat is turning a viral social trend into a paid feature. The app’s new “Chat to Song” tool lets users pick a music genre and generate an AI-made song from their DMs before sending it back into the conversation. It directly borrows from the trend YPulse told you about over the summer where TikTok users were turning texts into songs—even if a lot of those were Millennial moms, not teens. It’s part of a five-feature rollout for Lens+ subscribers that includes AI Photoshoot (which cleans up blinks, bad lighting, and awkward expressions in Snaps), AI Remix (which recreates a friend’s Snap in a new setting), sticker restyling, and AI-enhanced caption fonts. Snapchat+ has already topped 25M subscribers, and Snap is clearly betting on flashy AI extras to keep that number climbing. (Mashable)
