Carrefour is bringing the food industry into Fortnite. The French supermarket and retail company just launched a new in-game activation for back to school season, creating a custom map designed to introduce players to the “wide range of professions that work every day to make food more accessible and more responsible.” The experience features four mini games, each centered around a different role in the food industry: producer, delivery driver, department manager, and product innovation project manager. Players get to step into each role and learn what goes on behind the food they find on supermarket shelves. The activation will roll out across France, Spain, Brazil, and Belgium, supported by a 30-second trailer, social content, and in-store materials. It’s part of Carrefour’s effort to strengthen its cultural clout by showing up where young people are already spending their time. After all, YPulse data shows 55% of 13-24-year-old Europeans play any video games that involve them being part of a virtual world. (Little Black Book)
