Shaina Twain is an icon for Gen Z, too.

Aug 10 2026

Shaina Twain is an icon for Gen Z, too. For other singers and older gens, it’s no secret how beloved Twain is. But she’s developed a new fan base in recent years, too, thanks to connections with stars like Harry Styles—who she opened for during his most recent London tour run—among praise from dozens of others, and a resonance in her empowering songs. Her pioneered “pop-country” style is simply a mainstream sound now, so it’s also not hard to fit her hits in with the rest of a Gen Z playlist full of Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter. The message of her songs focusing heavily on the liberation of embracing her womanhood also strikes young fans as feminist in a way they champion, even if Twain didn’t see the songs in such a way when making them.
