Some Gen Z are opting out of going to the doctor. According to a new study by Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, more than one in four Gen Z patients don’t have a primary care doctor. Even for those who do, they’re skipping regular doctor appointments, with just 47% of 18-29-year-olds saying they have had an annual wellness visit this year. Meanwhile, 97% of those 65-and-older say they have a regular provider, compared with 71% of younger adults. Instead, many young people turn to local urgent care clinics for non-emergency health concerns. Some Gen Z may be facing challenges when looking for a primary care provider, like being priced out of insurance or finding trusted doctors who validate their concerns. (CNN)
