Sustainability and overtourism concerns are non-negotiable for some young travelers. A new Expedia Group study shows that among Gen Z and Millennials, 92% said that protecting nature and wildlife is a crucial factor when choosing and booking travel. After all, nature-focused travel is a favorite for young travelers—their data shows Gen Z is booking more frequent trips to national parks and nature destinations in the last 12 months. Nearly all (90%) said that supporting responsible tourism and local communities is important, and 94% are willing to travel during the off season specifically to reduce overcrowding.
