Sweethearts is back with another Valentine’s Day collection trying to read Gen Z’s mind. The brand surveyed 2K Gen Z and Millennials and found 75% are actively trying to keep dates affordable this year, with 80% saying the economy is affecting their Valentine’s Day plans. So, this year’s candy theme is “Love in This Economy,” featuring conversation hearts stamped with messages like “SPLIT RENT,” “SHARE LOGN,” and “BUY N BULK.” It’s the latest in a string of Gen Z-inspired drops from Sweethearts, including 2025’s ghosting-themed Halloween edition and situationship hearts the year before. The brand keeps nailing it because it treats the candy as a cultural mirror rather than just a product—when couples are splitting rent, managing student debt, and still trying to be romantic, “COOK FOR 2” might honestly be the most loving thing they can say.
