Kids are asking their parents for viral products this back to school season. According to a new Credit Karma survey, parents say their kids’ most requested items this year aren’t colorful supplies, but trendy products like Labubu dolls, Stanley cups, Owala water bottles, AirPods, and Adidas Sambas. While clothing and sneakers top the list of the most common items parents say their kids have already asked for or are going to ask for, Labubu backpack charms and $45 Stanley tumblers are close behind. And according to YPulse, 65% of back to school shoppers say they like to buy whatever is trending for back to school. These popular picks come with a hefty price tag though, especially as inflation pushes up costs across the board. Some parents are feeling the financial strain, with nearly half planning to take on debt to afford the back to school haul. (CNBC)
