A recent study by NerdWallet found that 18-34-year-olds are getting financially savvier—at least with their taxes.

A recent study by NerdWallet found that 18-34-year-olds are getting financially savvier—at least with their taxes. Out of the over 400 million Millennials expected to get a tax refund this year, 54% said they are planning to save or invest the money. The survey also found when it comes to filing, 80% are concerned about making a mistake, but only 27% turn to a tax professional—about a third turn to friends or family. Although most use tax software programs, like TurboTax or H&R Block, the most surprising finding from the study was how many used paper: “17% of younger taxpayers tucked their returns in the mail, compared with 8% among taxpayers ages 35 and older.” (NerdWallet, MarketWatch)
