Newly released action film Hardcore Henry is created for “Generation Xbox.” Screenwriter Jamie Russell has theorized that video games have spurred Hollywood’s loss of 18-24-year-old viewers, who may think, “Why watch a movie, when you can live inside one?” Hardcore Henry takes the video game approach, showing the entire film from the first-person perspective of the hero—just as players see the action in games like Grand Theft Auto.
