Toxic masculinity on social media is impacting Gen Z women.

A recent survey by Amnesty International U.K. reveals that 44% of British 16-25-year-olds female say they’ve seen misogynistic content on social media that affected their mental health. Plus, the report shows that over half (53%) have received inappropriate emojis on their posts and photos, and 44% have received unsolicited explicit images. This toxic culture is driving many Gen Z women away from social media: 40% of Gen Z women report having avoided or even left X due to the prevalence of misogynistic content, and 30% say the same about TikTok and Instagram.
