Could there be fewer school exams in the U.K. going forward?Β The British government recently ordered a report to better understand the impact of exams on secondary students in the country. Students must currently take 24-31 hours of exams in their final year of school, which is the equivalent of what students in Singapore doβ€”where academic pressure is known to be very high. The review found that half of the students who took their General Certification of Secondary Education (GCSEs) last summer struggled with stress, with 41% finding the test difficult to cope with and 10% very difficult. To alleviate pressure on students and consider their mental wellbeing, the review suggests reducing the number of assessments in students’ final year. (iNews)
