Right-wing media is taking over the internet.

Right-wing media is taking over the internet. A new Media Matters analysis found that right-leaning content creators have significantly larger audiences than left leaning ones, with a total following nearly five times bigger across major platforms like YouTube, Spotify, and TikTok. In fact, nine out of ten of the most-followed online shows lean right, with figures like Joe Rogan and Ben Shapiro leading the pack. These shows aren’t just about politics though—they’re in comedy, sports, and entertainment, too. (While still providing ideological views.) With podcasts and online shows now a major source of news for many Americans, this trend has played a key role in shaping public perception, especially during the 2024 election, with some even dubbing it the “podcast election.” (Media Matters)
