BP wants to introduce Millennials to Miles: an artificially intelligent talking gas pump. Currently being tested in Chicago and Brooklyn, Miles says humorous lines like “I’d be dancing if I could, but, well, I’m a pump,” streams Pandora radio stations, plays trivia games, and takes sharable video e-cards and ‘augmented reality’ photos of visitors. If making a new chatty friend isn’t enough to attract Millennials, the new initiative also sends consumers a post-transaction text offering a $0.25 discount on the following trip. (Chicago Tribune)
