With 40 million downloads in its first four days, Super Mario Run has broken an app store record. The company claims that the one-time fee of $9.99 to unlock the game put it on the charts for the 10 highest-grossing apps across 100 countries. The results are “obviously good news for Nintendo” as the brand aims to draw in consumers with traditional games to offset their faltering console business. (The Verge)
