Contrary to some beliefs that Millennials are uninterested about what’s happening in the world around them, when it comes to the news, “in fact, they are hungry for it.” But as with many things, they have their own approach to getting it. Millennials are skeptical of most news sources, and only 60% trust TV news shows, so they’re more likely to seek out their own information. According to a recent study, 57% of 18-34-year-olds say their go-to starting point to “deep-dive” on a news story is Google, compared to 2% who turn to newspapers and 4% who start with local TV. The research found their preference is to use “a blend of paths to news” including search, social media, online-only sites, and traditional sources. (TVNewser)
