In cities (and some towns) across the U.S. there is yet another reason for teens to delay getting their license: ride sharing apps. Services like Uber and Lyft are being used by teens to take them on weekend hangouts and home from school. Ride sharing services are the more wallet friendly choice when compared to car ownership’s registration fees, insurance, and gas costs. They may also be safer than teens driving themselves, as many inexperienced teen drivers are easily distracted, and six out of ten teen accidents involved distracted driving. (New York Times)
