Employment and Career Goals Report

Young workers consider their careers to be a main focus in their lives. But, the more they give, the greater their risk of burning out. So, where do employers come in when it comes to mental health care; especially as most young workers have anxieties about their jobs. And the way young people today define a successful career might be different than you think: how much money do they think they actually need?

YPulse’s 2025 Employment and Career Goals report dives into how many young people are employed, what they consider most important about their jobs, and how much work/life balance matters in comparison to pay.

  • How many young people are currently employed—and have multiple streams of income
  • What specific things about their jobs make them anxious
  • How much they think they need to earn annually to be financially successful

Report length: 22 pages, North America report is based on surveys of 1500 13-39-year-olds in the U.S. and Canada, fielded December 2024. Western Europe report is based on a survey of 2500 13-39-year-olds in the U.K., Italy, Spain, France, and Germany, fielded in December 2024
