Gen Z is often depicted in the media as a generation that struggles with bad mental health and is even dubbed the “loneliest generation.” But while it’s true that young Europeans take their mental health struggles seriously, it isn’t fair to jump to the conclusion that they’re all unhappy. In fact, our data shows that Gen Z and Millennials are generally happy about the ways things go in their lives at the moment—despite everything going on in the world that would justifiably concern them. In YPulse’s Life Milestones & Future Plans report, we ask European 13-39-year-olds how happy they are with their lives right now. And within the five countries we survey, list, there are some notable differences.
