The majority of Gen Z in highly skilled industries are using artificial intelligence.

Nov 25 2024

The majority of Gen Z in highly skilled industries are using artificial intelligence. Among “those whose jobs require a high level of thinking and processing information,” which Fortune calls “knowledge workers,” a Google survey found that 93% of Gen Z (22-27-year-olds) and 79% of Millennials (28-39-year-olds) use AI tools like ChatGPT every week. Younger workers are using AI for tasks like revising emails, taking notes, and generating ideas. But a larger study indicates that the overall acceptance of AI in the workplace is lagging, with many workers feeling uneasy about admitting they use it. However, “AI boosters” argue that these tools help make work easier, allowing employees to focus on more significant tasks. But, while this may lead to increased productivity now, it could also mean potential job losses in the future as AI does more of the work alone. (Axios)
