One in seven previously non-smoker British Gen Z have picked up vaping.Β A new study funded by Cancer Research UK found that 14% of British 18-24-year-olds who never regularly smoked before have started using e-cigarettes. Although vaping is commonly seen as less harmful than smoking, and its role in helping smokers quit is often highlighted, researchers are concerned about the risks for those who might not have smoked otherwise. In turn, the study calls for stricter regulations on vape products to minimize appeal to young non-smokers. Meanwhile,Β another study showsΒ that 16% of British 16-24-year-olds use e-cigarettes and vape, a number that keeps rising every year. (BBC)
