YouTube is changing the comments feature to be read-only for children. In the past, comments were completely disabled for children, preventing them from both reading and commenting. However, YouTube indicated that it would collaborate with parents and professionals to introduce a suitable way for older children to leave comments in supervised environments. By default, children will be allowed to read comments but won’t have the option to post their own comments and will be restricted from participating in live chats. Moreover, parents have the ability to completely deactivate comments if desired. (Tech Crunch)
