Uber Eats is introducing a short-form video feed similar to TikTok. The new feature, being tested in New York, San Francisco, and Toronto, will display content from restaurants that are within delivery range from users. Their goal is to develop a feed that mimics the feeling of dining in a restaurant, while watching cooks prepare dishes in front of you, and inspiring people to try new foods. While adding short-form video feeds to a food-delivery app may not be well-received by all users, the company is hopeful that it will be embraced as a tool for discovering new dining options in consumer’s local areas.
