Young adults are snagging up timeshares to travel where they want.

Young adults are snagging up timeshares to travel where they want.According to a 2022 report from the American Resort Development Association, “over half of timeshare owners are Gen Z and [M]illennials and the average age of a timeshare owner is 39.” While some inherit their timeshares from their families, Gen Z and Millennials account for over half of new sales purchases. Specifically for The Marriott Vacation Clubs, “over 66% of first-time buyers are under the age of 42.” Ultimately, the appeal has to do with the fact that many young Americans are working remotely these days, and the idea of a digital nomad isn’t that farfetched to them, especially since their schedules are more flexible and timeshares have grown more customizable. YPulse’s Travel report data shows Gen Z and Millennials plan on taking at least two trips a year. (USA TODAY)
