British university students are facing potential delays in receiving their degree results due to a strike from their professors. This year’s university graduations in the U.K. are in limbo: 145 British universities are still on an “assessment boycott,” meaning many students are left without a formal completion for their degree. The boycott started two months ago and is a result of the impasse between the unions and the administration over fair pay and working conditions. Some universities have responded by confirming plans to award degrees based on a quota of marks received, but it raises the question of academic standards. YPulse’s research shows that 43% of British 13-39-year-olds who are graduating this summer are university students. (The Guardian)
