Gen Z men are increasingly prioritizing religion in their lives—more than young women. While YPulse data shows that Gen Z has been faith is slowly shifting rather than surging to widespread new adoption, it is true that religion is growing among some groups. A new Gallup poll found that 42% of young men (18-29-year-olds) say that religion is “very important” in their lives, and that number was just 28% a few years ago. Only 29% of women in the same age group said religion is very important. But the data doesn’t suggest that there is an overwhelming religious movement among young men like some recent headlines suggest. In fact, the percentage of young men and women who regularly attend houses of worship is actually tied, even if it has increased among men more recently to even out. While there are some anecdotal cases of religious revival among conservative, “manosphere” circles especially, there’s not yet a nationwide shift that would suggest something bigger is happening.
