Nothing beats the thrill of live music for young Brits. Data from the Express’ Strike a Chord campaign shows 79% of under 20-year-olds love going to gigs (compared to 68% of people over 50-years-old), with a quarter of young fans trying to catch a concert at least once a month. For many, a live show is the ultimate night out: 20% of young people say a live gig is their ideal way to spend an evening with friends, compared to having dinner with friends (18%), clubbing (9%), or comedy nights (3%). And even with their tighter budgets, more than half (54%) are happy to spend more than £20 on a concert ticket. YPulse knows this love for live music isn’t U.K.-specific, either: Our data shows large concerts and festivals are the second most popular in-person experience European 13-19-year-olds want to attend.
