Gen Alpha’s “brainrot” vocab is expanding—as always. Each generation comes up with their own slang, but thanks to social media, it spreads like wildfire for tweens—and it dies just as quickly. Earlier this year, YPulse’s Tween Study reportasked the 8-12-year-old crowd the slang they actually use. And while they’re still using “skibidi,” “rizz,” and “cap” like they told us then, there have been some new slang words added to the list. You may already know about “aura” and “looks maxxxing,” but have you heard of “huzz,” “unc,” and “six-seven”? According to one 14-year-old, “huzz” or “bruzz” describes an attractive person, while “chopped” means looking the opposite. “Unc” describes an older person—much like Millennials’ “OK Boomer.” There’s also hype surrounding the phrase “six-seven,” which young people say refers to NBA player LaMelo Ball’s height, and posts using it are often set to the song “Doot Doot (6 7)” by Skrilla where it’s a recurring lyric.
