Two Yale juniors call their AI-powered platform the “anti-Facebook,” and it’s already raised over $3M. Sean Hargrow and Nathaneo Johnson—the 21-year-old Black founders of Series, an app that aims to change how people network—are ditching polished profiles and awkward cold messages. Their platform helps users connect with mentors, collaborators, and friends with help from AI “friends” that learn user’s relationship-based goals and create smart introductions. Hargrow says they’re “not trying to replace real-world relationships—we’re trying to make it easier for people to find the right relationships in the first place.” And while the platform is still in its early stages, investors are clearly paying attention, even in a field that would often count two young Black founders out. In just 14 days, they raised $3M thanks in part to a spontaneous dinner with top Bay Area investor Lee Skates, who quickly became their lead backer. (Entrepreneur)
