Frontline Gen Z workers are experiencing burnout. New research shows 75% of frontline employees—including those in retail, hospitality, and healthcare—globally report feeling burnt out, with an even bigger 83% of Gen Z workers in these roles saying so. Among Gen Z, 36% indicated they would even consider quitting their job due to its negative impact on their well-being. Despite 66% of all frontline employees rating their workplace positively overall, there is still considerable work needed to attract and retain younger employees. While many workers enjoyed increased flexibility and freedom through remote and hybrid arrangements during and after the pandemic, these benefits have not been accessible for frontline workers due to the nature of their positions. But it could be a benefit that keeps young people in these roles, though pay and compensation are ranked higher for what frontline employees want more of. (The Business Journals)
