Celsius is the new Red Bull for young women. While brands like Monster and Red Bull have historically targeted young men, Celsius has successfully focused on reeling in young women by promoting “essential energy” and its slogan “Live Fit” with female influencer partnerships. Now, many young women see Celsius as a healthy drink to pair with their workouts, only to be surprised by its high caffeine content and possible side effects after consuming it (and getting hooked). The workout supplement claims to enhance energy and metabolism while facilitating fat loss, however, a closer look at the label shows it contains 200mg of caffeine—equivalent to nearly six cans of Coke or two cups of coffee. Earlier this year, the drink also gained traction on TikTok amid rumors about it containing semaglutide, an ingredient in the diabetes drug Ozempic (though this was disproven).
