Some people believe that younger gens are more prone to cheating in relationships, but that isn’t necessarily true. A recent report from DatingAdvice.com found that 93% of Gen Z and 80% of Millennials have experienced cheating in their relationships. The study also indicated that dating apps may be creating a false sense of limitless choices for young people, leading users to perceive relationships as disposable—unlike previous gens who needed to invest more time and effort to meet others. However, YPulse data shows that the vast majority of 18-39-year-olds (75%) have never cheated on a partner. But, our data does affirm young people are increasingly becoming disenchanted with dating app culture and are seeking alternative approaches, placing a higher value on experiences rather than swiping. So while cheating certainly occurs, it is not exclusive to Gen Z or how they date. (Newsweek)
