More than half of 18-27-year-olds (56%) say they rely on the platform for health and diet information, with a third getting more health advice from TikTok than anywhere else. But a recent study from the University of Chicago found that nearly half of TikTok videos on the topic contained non-factual health information, with an excessive amount coming from non-medical influencers. Even videos from self-proclaimed medical experts were found to contain inaccurate information 15% of the time.
