How do older gens feel about Gen Z running late for work?

Jun 25 2024

How do older gens feel about Gen Z running late for work? A recent study by Meeting Canary found that nearly half of 16-26-year-olds view being between five and 10 minutes late to work as equivalent to being punctual. And approximately 40% of Millennials are forgiving colleagues who run 10 minutes behind schedule, but 70% of baby boomers say they have zero tolerance for any level of tardiness. It’s common for older gens to believe that younger gens’ lack of punctuality stems from a lack of respect for others’ time as they enter the workforce, while others argue that it may simply be a result of immaturity, which will improve with experience. But for Gen Z, the concept of punctuality has taken on a different meaning which may be attributed to them entering the workforce remotely during the pandemic. (Fortune)
