Snapchat will allow parents to block their teens from accessing the “My AI” chatbot. Snapchat introduced the artificial intelligence feature back in April, which right away raised concerns among parents about its appropriateness for their children. (And viral videos showed it was concerning in other ways to young users, too.) The app has now added extra features and protections to “My AI,” including safeguards against inappropriate content and temporary restrictions for misuse. Snapchat’s Family Center will provide parents with visibility into their teens’ safety and privacy settings, allowing them to monitor who their child shares posts with, who can contact them on the app, and whether their location is being shared on the Snap Map feature. YPulse data shows nearly six in 10 teens are Snapchat users and it’s the top platform they send messages on. (CNN)
