The former editor-in-chief of Women’s Health is launching Mental, a new website providing mental wellness and lifestyle resources. Amy Keller Laird is creating a space using her editorial background and struggles with OCD to provide a site that looks at mental health through a lifestyle lens. The platform is aiming to be less clinical than WebMD or Healthline and is geared towards women ages 22-40-years-old. The site includes pages like “Diagnosed,” which has information on ADHD, anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, eating disorders, OCD, and trichotillomania as well as sections on treatment. Other pages include “Good Buys” which highlights products and brands that help with certain disorders and “The Daily Cope,” a play on atrology’s daily horoscope, and provides coping mechanism blurbs. YPulse’s Mental Health report data shows that young females are more likely to say that it’s difficult to maintain their mental health. (Glossy)
