More people in the U.S. are incorrectly blaming Asian Americans for COVID.According to a study from Leading Asian Americans to Unite for Change (LAAUCH) and The Asian American Foundation (TAAF), 21% of adults in the U.S. say Asian Americans are at least “partly responsible” for COVID—up from 11% in 2021. Thirty-three percent of respondents say they believe that Asian Americans are more loyal to their country of origin than to the U.S.—up from 20% last year. Meanwhile, only 29% of Asian American respondents say they feel like they belong and are accepted in the U.S.—the lowest of all racial groups. Seventy-one percent of Asian American respondents say they are discriminated against in the U.S. today. YPulse research found that the majority of Asian young consumers think racism in the U.S. is getting worse—and we told you how young activists are starting movements like #StopAsianHate and #VeryAsian, while brands are coming up with ways to support the AAPI community.
