Millennial parents are using apps to navigate new parenthood and form routines for their babies. YPulse’s Millennial parent research found that 42% of Millennial parents go online for parenting advice—and a slate of new apps are helping parents manage everything in their child’s lives. Sleep deprivation and a slew of infant care details to keep track of can be overwhelming for new parents, and apps are helping them take control of schedules and alleviate some of the mental load. Huckleberry allows parents to log a baby’s daily habits; Baby Connect helps parents keep track of a baby’s feeding schedule as well as their medicine doses; and Baby Tracker lets parents track their baby’s daily habits, health, and exciting “firsts” during the early months. One mental health expert suggests these apps “are not built to take into consideration any additional health or nutritional needs that may be better off advised by a healthcare professional.” But these apps are helping many Millennial parents feel more in control, giving them an organized way to analyze their babies’ patterns and assess their needs.
