Some of the U.K.’s most popular dating apps joined forces on Valentine’s Day to push users to get boosted against COVID-19.

Feb 16 2022

Some of the U.K.’s most popular dating apps joined forces on Valentine’s Day to push users to get boosted against COVID-19. Though 80% of U.K. adults have gotten their booster, just 60% of 18-34-year-olds have received it. To encourage the boost, Tinder, OurTime, Match, OKCupid, Hinge, Plenty of Fish, and Grindr created special badges / stickers for users to display on their dating profiles, highlighting their vaccination status and increasing their chances of finding a match—according to Hinge, users who share their vaccination status get 30% more matches than those who don’t. YPulse’s WE dating and relationships research found that almost half of young Europeans have dated someone they’ve met through a dating app and 24% have met their romantic partner via a dating app or site. At the same time, the top reason they’re using dating apps is for fun and to pass the time. With dating apps becoming a form of entertainment in their lives, the platforms have the power to influence young Europeans’ life decisions beyond dating. (Adweek)
