Kahlil Greene is Yale’s first Black student body president—and he’s got a massive following on TikTok. We’ve told you about BIPOC influencers to know about, and Mr. Greene is no exception. Aside from being known as Yale University’s first Black student body president, he’s also known for his half-million followers on TikTok and for being a self-described “Gen Z historian” who shares lesser-known events in American history like the Tusekegee medical experiments. He’s also making waves in his local community: Last summer, he raised more than $57K for social justice organizations during the Black Lives Matter protests, and he’s already started partnering with brands. This summer, Greene teamed up with ESPN’s sports and pop culture site The Undefeated for a video series that argues how some popular slang (like “the cookout” or “no cap”) originated in Black culture.
