Young peoples’ mental health is continuing to be negatively impacted by the pandemic. As COVID cases continue to rise in the U.S., so does “a growing concern about mental health” especially among children and teens. According to a CDC report, mental health-related ER visits from January to mid-October were up 24% among 5-11-year-olds and up 31% among 12-17-year-olds. A CDC study from August shows that 75% of 18-24-year-olds reported having one “adverse mental or behavioral health symptom.” Suicidal ideation has increased among young adults, with just above 25% of respondents citing they’ve thought about suicide in the last month.
