Cord Cutters and Cord Nevers might both be cable-free, but there’s plenty they don’t have in common. Cord Nevers, the 9% of the U.S. population growing up without ever subscribing to cable, reportedly have a lower average household income, and average age of 34, and prefer short-form videos, while Cord Cutters have an average age of 42, rely on streaming services. While both groups are looking to cut costs, Cord Cutters prefer to stream, while Cord Nevers “don’t think TV is the best way they should spend their money” now but are more likely (at 22%) to say they will subscribe to cable in the future.
