Vinyl LP sales have reached an all-time high. According to Nielsen's Year-End Report, sales reached $13 million in 2016—the highest since the firm began keeping track in 1991—and MusicWatch reports that half of vinyl record purchasers are under 25-years-old. One expert says that the internet is driving the trend to go back to analog: “the younger record fans still love the feel and sound of a physical artifact. It's highly personal.” Although it’s undoubtedly experiencing a surge, vinyl still only makes up 11% of physical album sales. (CNBC)
